What a fantastic two weeks in the WoO – The Window of Opportunity

We have had the pleasure of Alison Mhairi Reid for the past two gracing the walls of Tidalfire’s WoO (Window of Opportunity).

We have had some wonderful visitors to see the work which Alison has created and the West Lothian Courier  has even printed a piece about the exhibition.

The Window of opportunity here in Edinburgh is nearly at capacity for the first half of 2012 so if you would like to be part of it next year give us a call or pop in and say Hello!

What’s it all about?  What is WoO?

The Tidalfire Window of Opportunity provides local artists an exhibition (wall) space plus window display on St Mary’s Street. The space is provided free of charge for a two week period for the purpose of showcasing the artists work. The initiative is aimed at creatives producing arts, crafts, sculpture etc. who may not ordinarily display or exhibit their work with the view to promoting their craft and ultimately resulting in a commission for work.
St Mary’s Street is in the heart of Edinburgh city centre and a thoroughfare that sees a huge increase in footfall during the period of Edinburgh’s festivals in July and August.
